6 months old already????

Where has the time gone? Seems like only yesterday we were settling in from the hospital with a tiny 7lb 2oz baby boy. Ethan turned 6 months old yesterday and while I was happy for this milestone, I was also sad. The reality that he’s growing up all too fast and everyday inching toward another milestone made me smile and made my heart heavy. God really blessed us with a phenomenal son with a wonderful personality. He’s such a happy baby. I love to hear him babbling at4am. As MUCH as I’d rather be asleep, it’s the greatest sound that I hear in the mornings!

So, here is what Ethan’s doing:

Crawling: NO….not even remotely interested in crawling or tummy time. I did put a bottle in front of him Monday night just to see if it would get him positioned to crawl….NO! He just rolled over…and over until he was close enough to reach the bottle.

Feedings: He is holding his bottle MOST of the time. He eats baby food 2x/day and loves it. He eats green beans, applesauce, bananas, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, and rice cereal.

Sleeping: for the most part, he IS sleeping thru the night. ( 9pm-615am). We’ve had a few early morning babbles about 415 though.

Teeth: He cut his 1st tooth 2 weeks ago at 5 months. Thankfully, he’s had no problems with them.

I can’t give an accurate weight but I’m guessing 20-22 lbs. He has his 6 mths check up next week.

Here are a few pics of my sweet baby boy! I love him so!

1st night away from home

Ethan had his 1st night away from home on Friday. He stayed with my Mom so that we could attend a marriage conference.  We felt weird getting out of the car without diaper bags, blankets, and Ethan.  When we walked in the house Friday night, Chris kept saying that the house didn’t feel right without his boy being at there.  I know I heard him repeat it 15 times….but he was right.  It was the 1st time in 5 months that we were at home and Ethan was not there.  I kept waking up during the night listening for him in the monitor. Thankfully, he had a wonderful night with his Nama AND….he slept ALL night for her.  I sooooo wish that he’d do the same thing at home.  I’m thinking that he slept all night because he was in the bed with her and not in his crib.  OH WELL…we’ll just keep praying for a full 8 hours of sleep for now!

He's rolling!

Ethan has started rolling over. When we do tummy time at home, he does NOTHING but scream. When I picked him up yesterday, his teacher asked me why didn’t I tell them that he started rolling over. My response was, “Because he hasn’t started”. Well, just as we were talking about it, he rolled over for me! What a precious baby!
Sadly, Chris didn’t get to see this. Today, his teacher was ready with her cell phone in hand to provide proof for Daddy…she sent us a video!   SEE!

Found some time to post...finally!

 Happy NEW YEAR...
So this first post of 2011 is LONG overdue! I’ve been busy doing what I love most; being a mother & a wife. I often think about blogging but finding the time to sit at the computer is few & far between.

Ethan is great and as handsome as EVER!!! He is such a precious little boy and I can’t thank God enough for bringing him into our hearts & home. Time has gone by way to fast. This time last year, I was only 7 weeks preggo and Ethan is now 21 weeks old. He has started teething but thankfully, he’s doing okay ( just a lot of wet kisses from the extra drool) He could care less about all of the teethers & toys to chew on…he’s managing quite well with his fingers. He’s also talking up a storm! I can’t help but wake up with a smile on my face in the mornings when I hear Ethan babbling in the monitor. I guess it’s an added bonus that he’s babbling instead of crying too. I usually just lay in the bed & listen to him chat and anxiously await the day when the babble actually turns into the words Moma & DaDa! :0)

Chris and I talked today about how perfect he is, especially when he’s asleep. I absolutely love our feedings during the night. As exhausted as I am, I have to hold him a few extra minutes after he’s burped and in dream land. I steal his kisses in the night and he just smiles. One day he’ll grow up and “mommy kisses” won’t be cool anymore so I’m getting them in now. He has the most kissable cheeks ever…see pic below!

Ethan had a round of RSV ( THANK YOU DAYCARE) but bounced back quickly with the nebulizer. At his office visit on Friday, he weighed 17 lbs 13oz. He started eating cereal the week of Christmas and every since that time, he’s been growing like a weed!

Can you believe that my husband is ready to talk about number 2 ( pregnancy #5) OMG! He wants to try when Ethan is 6 months! Did he forget that I’m very fertile & we won’t have to TRY for long. Ethan is SUCH a sweet baby and I don’t want to RUSH him and make him grow up. I just want him to be my baby. I’m worried that the next child will be totally different from Ethan and I’d be CRAZY! I already told Chris that I plan to have a headache for the ENTIRE SPRING so be prepared!
Here are some new pics of my GQ Baby! Handsome, right?

Look at these kissable cheeks!!!! :0)

Hey Santa!

My company hosted our annual holiday brunch today. I usually do not attend becasue I didn't feel like I had a reason to attend. This year was different. We had a great morning catchingup with old friends & co-workers. The best part of the day was Ethans 1st introduction to Santa.  Thankfully, he cooperated & we were able to get a good picture.

I'm so glad that we attended. So many of the people that prayed for his safe arrival were grateful to see/meet him.
